The Beast Kingdom – Satan’s Final Stand
The prophecies are clear that one of the reasons for the Lord’s return is to destroy the kingdom of Satan which will have a stranglehold on most of humanity at the time of the end.
1) Ten Nations will unite to form the “Beast kingdom” of Rev 13 and Rev. 17:9-10
This prophecy has yet to play out, although the beast kingdom could spring up rather quickly once the opportunity avails itself in the form of some calamity or other global crisis; whether natural or manufactured.
“This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while.” Rev. 17:9-10
Some prophecy scholars still believe that Rev. chapter 17 refers to a revived Roman Empire that will once again emerge as the last kingdom on earth; referred to as the “beast kingdom” under the control of the man of perdition (the antichrist). Although it is NOT likely that Rome will suddenly emerge and grow into this powerful world dominating empire, I believe that if Revelation 13 and 17 is referring to Rome, it is only inferring that the beast kingdom will have the type of economic, and military prowess that the Roman Empire enjoyed at the time that John penned Revelation.
Other “beast kingdom” candidates include:
1) Rome as part of 10 Western nations
2) A coalition with may include Muslim nations, Russia, China, as part of the coalition.
3) A 10 nation confederacy consisting of Muslim nations, referred to as a “Mid-East Beast”.
4) A combination of 10 global powers from more than one continent.
Whatever nations make up the final beast kingdom, the important point is that these nations will be doing Satan’s work in the last days – this is why the bible refers to it them as a “Beast Kingdom“.
2) The One World Religion (Rev. 13:8)
This prophecy cannot be fulfilled until the global government (beast kingdom) is formed, since the one world religion will be created and enforced once the beast kingdom grants power to the man of perdition; aka the antichrist.
“All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast-all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.” Rev. 13:8
Some believe that the one world religion will be headed by the Vatican. This could be the case if the Vatican pursues a universal church comprised of many religions. Much more likely, I believe that it will be a pagan religion created by the antichrist’s false prophet, which will comprise several major religions, including the Roman Catholic faith. Such a global religion which would embrace the popular doctrine of “many ways to God” fits the description of the Harlot religious system as prophesied in Revelation 17:4-6. In the Old testament God refers to those people and nations that worship multiple gods and idols as “playing the harlot” and engaging in spiritual “fornication“. Here are just two passages that confirm this:
“So it came to pass, through her casual harlotry, that she defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.” Jeremiah 3:9
“Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.” Ezekiel 6:9
“…She will return to her hire, and commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.” Isaiah 23:17
However as you will see next, the global religion will be eradicated once the antichrist achieves absolute control around the midpoint of the tribulation period.
3) The leader of the One World Government will Claim that he is god and will force the mark of the beast. He will kill Christians, Jews and all who refuse his mark (Rev 13:6-8)
As you can see the final global government will be religious based. This makes sense since the end time world will become so totally corrupted and deluded, as to allow Satan to take full control of the final earthly kingdom. Once the ten nation beast kingdom is formed, Just before the apocalypse begins, this charismatic leader will emerge on the scene who will seem to have all the answers for the world’s woes. He will quickly be granted power to control the world’s political, military, and economic machine. Fully possessed by Satan, the antichrist through his false prophet, will establish a one world religion whereby he will eventually require all to worship him as god! Revelation 13 reveals that around the midpoint of the apocalypse the antichrist will claim that he is the sovereign god and that all must worship only him at peril of death. This will lead to the martyrdom of millions of believers in the true God who will NOT be deceived. These will refuse to take the mark of Satan.
Everyone who is NOT written in the “Book of Life” will take the mark of the beast;
the 666 – which allows Satan to claim their soul (Rev. 20:15).
The Root of the Problem
The problem is that throughout this age, mankind has been easily swayed by their leaders. We have placed too much faith and trust on our elected officials, rather than on God. Usually all it takes is a person with presence, charisma and wit, to win the hearts and worship of the masses. We saw this with Hitler in Nazi Germany. We also saw it with President Obama who charmed many with his presence, charisma and his mastery of speech. We will see it again soon when the man of perdition arrives on the world scene.
The Good News
Soon after the antichrist deceives many into worshiping him and taking his mark, the wrath of God judgments will fall upon the earth. A series of 3 sets of 7 devastating plagues, calamities and Judgments will befall the kingdoms of this world (Satan’s kingdom), until they topple and are replaced by the kingdom of God. The unholy trinity: “antichrist, false prophet and Satan will all be cast into the Lake of Fire; and then the earth will finally enjoy eternal joy and peace under God (Revelation chapters 20, 21, and 22).
