Robert Rite (08/19/2015): In this study I want to share how our bodies are perhaps even more complex, and much more significant to God than the entire universe. There is a classic song released in 1985 titled “We are the World”; I propose to you that our potential is even greater than that. When we glare at the cosmos and the darkness of space, we are awed by its endless expanse and beauty. Perhaps God made this enormous universe so expansive so as to humble us in our tiny frail human bodies; to check our arrogance and pride as we witness the awesome omnipotent glory and power of the Almighty.
But we cannot dismiss how the universe appears to also be a dark and lonely expanse. The universe persists formless and void; as if the universe is waiting for the coming God family to cultivate it; just like our forefathers colonized and cultivated the whole earth. By the way, before God created man is His image, the earth was also formless and void.
When we contemplate the miracle of the human body, we can agree that unlike the universe our bodies are alive and thriving. Our internal mini-universe contains an innumerable number of active cells and billions of moving parts and organisms within. It is not just a marvel; it is as if the sovereign God planted a picture of the universe
inside all of us. But the universe that exists in us is much more dynamic, thriving and alive than the universe that persists in the expanse of the heavens. Yet our scientists and the establishment want us to believe that our living thriving bodies evolved from a dead and lifeless universe!
Indeed, our body is a microcosm of the universe, but a universe that is so complex that science will never fully master it – and most definitely will NEVER be able to replicate it.
hy does “modern” society fail to appreciate and acknowledge that while the universe persists in a somewhat state of inertia (a formless and void state), our bodies and our planet thrives in productivity, creativity and an endless state of motion. Instead of appreciating the miracle of our body and our planet, humanity spends trillions of dollars and resources trying to prove that we are not unique mortal beings with a supernatural spirit, but rather that much more intelligent beings exist somewhere in a dormant universe.
God created man, science, physics including the many atheists and nonbelievers who reject God’s omnipotence and sovereignty by questioning His capabilities and authority. They thus relegate the marvels of God’s creation to some man-made theories such as ‘big bang” and “evolution”. They wonder why the God of the universe would care so much about this tiny planet earth.
Instead of glorifying omnipotent God for the creation of this mind boggling expanse called the universe, many have been misled into believing that one God could not have created so much. But God boldly declares the following:
Isaiah 44:24: “Thus says the Lord, you’re Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;”
We are composed of both a mortal decaying body and a supernatural eternal soul. Although we may indeed be a hieroglyphic of the universe; we are collectively much greater than that. Since we were created in His image, God’s DNA resides in all of us – either in a pure form (when the Holy Spirit resides in us) or in a corrupted form (when the spirit of Satan resides in us)! Our bodies were originally created with the perfect DNA of God, until original sin allowed Satan to corrupt our DNA and thus bring forth all kinds of sickness and suffering.
The scriptures reveal that our spirit existed before the creation of this earth and perhaps the universe itself. Let’s read:
In Ephesians 1:4-5 we read: “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will”.
Although the kingdoms of this earth attempt to relegate us to a life of servitude and slavery; we the elect who believe the truth – are all predestined to become kings and Priests before the Almighty:
Revelation 5:10 “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
When you behold the miracle of your body, you behold the awesome glory of our creator. The glory of God is not only displayed in the universe and on earth, but inside each of us. God has put his spirit inside us. It is that spirit that lets us breathe and think, live and blink. Without God we are nothing but the dust that we came from; dead like a desert starved of water – and likened to the lifeless planets of our solar system.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our lord and savior, we instantly activate the spiritual essence of the universe inside of us and we are connected forever with the greater universe of God – the kingdom of heaven. While alive on earth, we the body of Christ can manifest heaven on earth by miracles and divine works. Jesus made this perfectly clear:
Luke 10:19 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you”.
2 Corinthians 6:16 – “…for we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
In the afterlife, as part of the God family, I believe that as heirs of Christ we will finally activate and bring to life the void and formless cosmos, and we will fill the universe. Let’s read:
Ephesians 4:10 “He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe“.
That is our destiny; the essence of the good news of the gospels – that through the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ, the kingdom of heaven is within our grasp!
Not only do the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1-4), but even in its mortal state, our body is a testament to the glory of the sovereign creator of the universe.
