Robert Rite (10/15/2015): When people hear the term, “the truth is out there” some may conjure up thought of aliens or the X-files. Did you know that today more people believe in UFO’s than in
Choose LifeJesus? According to a National Geographic survey, 77 percent of all Americans believe that aliens have visited Earth. Yet according to a recent Harris poll, only 68 percent of all Americans believe that Jesus visited earth as the Son of God, let alone as God in the flesh.

Ever wonder why so many deny the deity of Jesus Christ. Some genuinely question while others mockingly ask, “Why would a sovereign God need a son”?

The name of Jesus seems to be fair game among the late night shows, comedians, artists, museums and the like. And even more sadly, fallen man loves it; while governments and institutions add wood to the fire by shunning and banning his name and word from the public eye! While other religions guard the sanctity of their god’s name, it seems that the Christian body of Christ, at least in America and Europe, seems to just sit back and allow the desecration of their God and His Holy name.

The reason that so many shun and or reject the name of Jesus, may be that they do not fully comprehend or appreciate the truth as revealed in many ancient and New Testament scriptures – that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh.

The apostle Thomas knew this truth when in John 20:28, he declared concerning Jesus, “My Lord and my God”; and Jesus did NOT rebuke Thomas when he declared this truth.

Although in the scriptures Jesus never said “I am God”, He did make it clear that he was; in every other conceivable way possible. For example, In John 10:30 Jesus declares “I and the Father are one”. Notwithstanding, let’s explore this a bit further. Other than perhaps possible translation errors, why do we not read of Jesus saying “I am God”? I propose several reasons:

1) Jesus did not declare that He was God outright – out of reverence to almighty God.

2) Jesus knew and also revealed that the father was greater than the son while the Son was here on earth. God in heaven is almighty, but while on earth Jesus powers were not equal to Jehovah’s.

3) Jesus lessened His deity and identity because he occupied a mortal body while on earth which would not be fully glorified until after His death and resurrection.

4) God has revealed that he wants us to search out the truth – he wants us to earn our crown. In Jeremiah 29:13 the Almighty declares “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Now let’s review several other scriptures which reveal and confirm that Jesus is indeed God in the flesh.

Hebrews 1:3 – teaches that Jesus is the Facilitator of all things who keeps the universe in check, and in perfect order.

In Psalm 45:7 – God addresses Jesus as God. We read in Psalm 45:7 “… Therefore God, Your God has anointed You”.

John 1:1-3 states that all things were made through Jesus, and that Jesus is the word, and that the word is God.

Christ also made it very clear that He was God when He declared in John 8:58 “Very truly I tell you… before Abraham was born, I am!” Not knowing that He was actually God, the unbelieving Jews who had heard this statement responded by taking up stones to kill Jesus Christ for blasphemy, as the Mosaic Law commanded (Leviticus 24:16). Surely they understood that “I Am” refers to Abba God the Almighty. In Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.”

In Galatians 4:5 we learn that Christ came to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to son ship. So Jesus is our redeemer. God also declares that He is our redeemer. In Isaiah 49:26 God declares: “Then all mankind will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.” So Jesus is our redeemer, God is our redeemer, Jesus and god are one!

The problem is that mankind analysis the mysteries of heaven in a secular rather than spiritual mindset. God planted many examples that help unlock these mysteries. For example, in the family unit, which God sanctified, the child grows up and eventually becomes an adult just like his parents, and then after the parents go to rest – he carries on the parents name throughout the generations. If the parent was the President of a company, the child usually becomes President once the parent retires. So it will also be with the God family in the heavenly realm, during the age of Messiah’s reign.

During this New Testament age that we live in today, Jesus is our High Priest in heaven (Hebrews 4:14) who makes atonement for our sins. Yet on Judgment day Jesus will judge all mankind. So where is God at the end of this age? He is where he has always been, in Jesus and Christ in Him.

For those who still hold his name in contempt, John 5:22 should be a stern warning, as it reveals the following: “Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son.” On judgment day, all who held His name in contempt will finally know who is God.

There are so many more scriptures that reveal the true deity of Jesus, but for brevity sake I encourage you to seek it out as I have done.

The truth is out there and it is that Christ was not just the Son of God, but God Himself who manifested as a man to sacrifice His mortal body, in order to offer all humanity a clear passage to paradise; that all people and tongues might not only have eternal life but become children of the most high.
