Bible Codes that Reveal Jesus Christ as Messiah

Key Prophecies that Point to Jesus Christ as Messiah

Robert Rite (03/27/2016): Many do not know that the Old Testament provides several prophecies that clearly identify Jesus Christ as the Messiah. In this message we will unlock a few of the most significant prophecies ID-100200712that make it clear that Jesus Christ is not just the “King of the Jews” but the King of Kings, and the Lord of the Universe.

Let’s begin with one of the most powerful revelations that place the Messiah Jesus within one year of the Crucifixion!

Daniel was a Jewish prophet who as a young lad was taken captive to Babylon, after Israel was captured by the Babylonians.

In Dan. 9:21-23 the angel Gabriel appeared before Daniel to explain that the prophecy in Jeremiah 29:10 was much greater than just about the restoration of the Jews back to Israel! God’s chief messenger angel Gabriel is about to give Daniel one of the most important prophecies for mankind. Let’s read the prophecy:

“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times. And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;” Dan. 9:25-26a

The key to unlocking this prophecy is to understand that the 70 weeks referred to here are weeks of years whereby each day is a year. Unlocking this secret, we take the 70 weeks and break it down in the following three steps:

Step 1) 70 weeks consists of 490 days (of years).

Step 2) the 490 days are 490 years.

Step 3) the prophecy is divided in two.
a) The first part is 483 years (the first 69 weeks)
b) The last part is 7 years (the last week) which is the last seven years of this age; also referred to as the apocalypse.

Daniel 9:26 reveals that after the 483 years the Messiah is cutoff (crucified). So another key is to know when the 483 years begin. Once we know that we can determine when the Messiah is killed, and just as important – who He is!

The bible record backed by history makes this easy as we continue below:

Step 4) The seventy week prophecy begins with the command of King Artaxerxes in 445 B.C. to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (Neh. 2:1; Da. 9:25).

Step 5) the years are 360 days each. A Hebrew year is 360 days, and all prophecies are based on the 360 day Hebraic calendar.

Step 6) 483 years (step 3 above) at 360 day years results in 173,880 days.

Step 7) when we add 173,880 days to 445 B.C. we arrive at Palm SundayApril 6th, 32 AD!

This is the exact day that Jesus Christ appeared on Palm Sunday in Jerusalem riding on a donkey (John 12:14-15; Zech. 9:9)!

April 6th, 32 AD was the exact moment when Jesus was anointed as the most high; just 4 days before He would be cutoff as Daniel 9:26 foretold. In that day a great multitude gathered as Jesus made His way into the holy city, Jerusalem. The multitude were waving palm branches and shouting: “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; the King of Israel!”

The crowd was confirming Jesus Christ as their Messiah; and unknowingly fulfilling the anointing of the most high as foretold in Daniel 9:24!

There is no real debate among conservative interpreters as to who is spoken of by the phrase “the Messiah will be cut off” (Dan. 9:26), as a revelation of the crucifixion of Christ, which occurred four days after Jesus triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. Jesus would be crucified after completion of the seven and 62nd week (the 63rd week).

Interesting that from the day Jesus was announced as Messiah till the day of his Resurrection we have seven days; God confirms fulfillments in Sevens!

Here are a few additional KEY Old Testament prophecies that identify Jesus Christ as Messiah…

Isaiah 53: 2-3…There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
He is despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. and we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Is. 53: 4-5 “Surely He has borne our grief and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.”

Is. 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Is. 53:6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Is. 53:7 “He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.
Is. 53:9 “And they made His grave with the wicked—But with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence….”
And More Messiah identifiers

Psalm 22:18 – “They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.”
– Fulfilled in Mark 15:24: “And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take.”

Zechariah 11:3 – “And the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord for the potter.”
– Fulfilled in Matthew 27:3“Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced,”

We who know that Jesus Christ is the Messiah king who is coming soon for us are very few and privileged in this fallen world.  We are the elect few whom God Almighty has chosen to try to convert the lost sheep into the fold before that Great Day of God Almighty as foretold by the great prophet John in Revelation 16:14

Why side with those who have chosen the prince of this age? That is the losing side. Choose life and side with the Prince of Peace. There is a day coming when the world will know who is the Lord, as foretold by the great prophet Ezekiel:

“So I will make My holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,” says the Lord God. “This is the day of which I have spoken.”  Ezekiel 39:7-8
